THE STORY BEHIND THE SUPER GUN PARK

Gerald Bull was a Canadian engineer renowned for his work in ballistics and artillery. During the 1960s and 1970s, he conducted advanced research on high-velocity guns capable of launching projectiles over extremely long distances. Bull founded the Space Research Corporation (SRC) in Highwater, near Mansonville, where he continued his experiments.

The "Super Gun" was one of his most ambitious projects, designed to launch satellites into orbit at a lower cost compared to conventional rockets. However, his work sparked much controversy due to its potential military applications. Bull notably collaborated with various governments, including Iraq, which ultimately led to his assassination in 1990.

The site of Highwater/Mansonville, where he conducted his research, became famous for these bold and controversial projects, hence the name "Super Gun Park."
