SUMMARY

The FMSQ is looking for an Event Technician for the 2025 season. Reporting directly to the Race and Event Director, the successful candidate will play a key role in the preparation, setup, and execution of events at each race site. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, outdoor environments, and has a strong interest in event logistics and motorsports.

 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare event sites before each race (setup of tents, signage installation, spectator zones, and paddock areas)

  • Assist in track creation in collaboration with the Race Director (layout, marking, taping, clearing if necessary)

  • Operate various field equipment (chainsaws, quads, off-road vehicles, etc.)

  • Ensure full setup and teardown of infrastructures before and after each event

  • Support the Race and Event Director throughout the race weekend for various logistical needs

  • Ensure track safety and compliance with FMSQ standards

  • Work closely with the management team to ensure smooth event execution

 

REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for a motivated candidate who is passionate about event management and motorsports, enjoys hands-on work, and can handle long and intense workdays. The candidate must also be ready to travel regularly to event sites across Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritimes.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

 

Technical Skills:

  • Experience in outdoor event management, motorsports, or fieldwork (an asset)

  • Basic knowledge of using field equipment (chainsaws, quads, etc.)

  • Good understanding of basic safety standards

  • Physically fit for demanding work conditions

  • Valid driver’s license (a strong asset)

  • Bilingual (French/English spoken) is an asset

Professional Qualities:

  • Resourceful, independent, and a strong team player

  • Professionalism and sense of responsibility

  • Strong communication skills with team members and event staff

  • Ability to manage stress and handle unexpected challenges

 

JOB DETAILS

  • Salary: To be discussed with the candidate based on experience and type of commitment.

  • Schedule:

    • A large portion of the work is done during the week leading up to the event (preparation, infrastructure setup, site development, and track creation).

    • Event days (Saturday and Sunday) are key workdays with an intense pace.

    • The days following the event involve teardown, cleanup, and site restoration.

    • Between events, there are also preparation, equipment maintenance, and logistics tasks to ensure smooth operations for upcoming races.

  • Employment Period: Seasonal – April to September, full-time or part-time (to be determined based on the candidate)

  • Travel: Frequent throughout Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritimes. Transportation, accommodation, and some meals provided during events.
