SUMMARY

 

The FMSQ is looking for one or two candidates to fill the position of referee in charge of Saturday and Sunday. Reporting directly to the Races and Events Director, the referee will be responsible for certain official procedures and areas such as the starts and the finish line during the events.


 

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Applies official start and finish procedures for each category;

  • Participates in the management of the race schedule to minimize delays and adjusts accordingly if necessary;

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the FMSQ rule book;

  • Participates in the application of FMSQ racing rules with the management team;

  • Participates in decision-making in the event of a protest with the help of the management team;

  • With the support of the team on the track, he ensures that the racers can operate in a safe, fair and equitable circuit for all, throughout the event;

  • Participates in the application of necessary sanctions to offending participants while respecting the regulations in force, and in an impartial manner.


 

PREREQUISITES: We are looking for a motivated candidate who is passionate about racing. Able to join a young and dynamic team and work with determination and tact in all circumstances. Available for intensive work over a short period. Comfortable working in the field and sometimes in difficult environmental conditions. The desired candidate must enjoy traveling to different event sites.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

 

Techniques :

  • Experience in FMSQ racing or comparable racing environments;

  • Very good knowledge and understanding of a racing event, or similar;

  • Knowledge of basic safety standards; 

  • Good knowledge of French, spoken English is an asset; 

​

Professional skills :

  • Ability to communicate with people;

  • Professionalism, resourcefulness, respect and rigor;

  • Sense of responsibility, tact and diplomacy;

OFFER DETAILS:

 

  • Salary: Paid by the hour.

  • Schedule: Working hours will be between 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and/or between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
