Media, Photographers, and Videographers: Official FMSQ Policy

The FMSQ enthusiastically welcomes content creators who capture the adrenaline of our events. To ensure the safety of athletes and the professionalism of the series, the following policy applies to all FMSQ sites and events.

Who does this policy apply to?

This policy is intended for any person (professional or amateur) wishing to capture images or video content on FMSQ event sites other than members of their own family or close friends. This includes press photographers, team videographers, digital content creators, and drone operators.

1. Mandatory Accreditation

Access to restricted areas is a privilege granted only to approved creators.

  • Prior Request: You must complete the official form via the "Media Accreditation" button on our website at least 72 hours before the event.

  • No Spontaneous Access: No accreditations will be issued on-site.

  • Identification: Wearing a "MEDIA VEST" is mandatory at all times. It must be worn visibly over your clothing.

2. Track Safety and Conduct

Motorsports involve real risks. Failure to follow instructions will result in the immediate revocation of accreditation and expulsion from the site.

  • Prohibited Zones: It is strictly forbidden to stand in jump landing zones, on the outside of fast corners (impact zones), or to cross the track while a wave of riders is passing.

  • Visual Vigilance: * Never turn your back to riders on the track.

    • Never cross the track without rigorously verifying that no rider is approaching.

  • Electric Vehicle Warning: Be extremely vigilant, as electric vehicles produce no engine noise compared to combustion engines. Your sight is your only indicator of danger.

  • Flash Prohibition: The use of flashes (strobe lights) is strictly prohibited during races. A blinded rider can suffer a serious accident.

  • Authority of Officials: FMSQ marshals and officials have full authority over your positioning. Any instruction to move back or relocate must be followed immediately.

3. Drone Regulations

  • Default Prohibition: The use of drones is prohibited on all FMSQ sites, except with explicit written authorization.

  • Compliance: If authorized, the pilot must comply with Transport Canada standards and hold adequate liability insurance for this type of operation.

  • Air Priority (Helicopter): During certain events, helicopters or other aircraft may fly over the sector. It is imperative that drones land immediately as soon as an aircraft is detected or signaled.

4. Waiver of Liability

By submitting your request and accessing the event site:

  • You confirm that you have signed the FMSQ Waiver of Liability.

  • You personally assume all risks related to the proximity of moving vehicles.

  • The FMSQ declines all responsibility for damage caused to your equipment (dust, debris, projections, or contact).

5. Content Sharing and Ethics

  • FMSQ Usage: In exchange for your privileged access, the FMSQ reserves the right to use a selection of your photos/videos (with photo credit) for its official communications.

  • Integrity: Out of respect for the riders and their families, it is strictly forbidden to publish or broadcast images of serious injuries or medical distress.

Your safety and that of our riders are the keys to a successful event. Stay vigilant and help us showcase the sport safely!
