Official press release: FMSQ 2026 preliminary calendar

The FMSQ team is proud to present the 2026 season calendar. As with every year, this is a preliminary version intended to provide our members and the community with the dates and locations of our events. Please note that the FMSQ reserves the right to adjust and modify the calendar if necessary.

A Word on Planning and Challenges

Deploying a major series like the FMSQ involves numerous logistical variables. We are never immune to the unexpected, particularly regarding environmental and weather factors. Additionally, the FMSQ must now adapt to strict regulations and constraints related to our sport; these issues are now at the heart of our site selection process.

While the Board of Directors is aware that the evolution and changes within the association may not satisfy everyone, we want to assure you that every effort is being made to position the FMSQ for continued progress. Our priority remains a structured, professional development that respects current standards.

It is also important to consider that available weekends during the season are limited. To build this calendar, we analyze a multitude of parameters: statutory holidays, Quebec construction holidays, soil types, landowner availability, and the schedule of other sporting events. We are confident that we are presenting the best possible scenario.

Special thanks and Transitions

Some venues will not be returning in 2026. The FMSQ would like to thank our event partners and everyone who has contributed to our growth. A special thank you to Dominic Ouimet for his exceptional involvement and dedication over the past 11 years with the Nord Rock event in Mont-Laurier.

Site Details: FMSQ National Cross-Country Championship

For 2026, the series plans for 9 events. This calendar represents a significant challenge for our team, but above all, an incredible opportunity to develop the FMSQ in the most professional and safe manner possible.

RD1 – La Tuque | May 23-24 (Sand Trap) A true classic to open the season. After record-breaking participation years and constant improvements from the Sand Trap team, led by our partner Jean-François Gauvin, the season will undoubtedly start strong!

RD2 – Saint-Michel-des-Saints | June 6-7 (Lac Taureau) A second FMSQ staple. This year again, we will visit this region twice. For this edition, several improvements are planned, specifically regarding parking organization and dust management, to enhance the experience for all participants.

RD3 – Otter Lake: SUPER WEEKEND | June 26-28 A brand-new site in the Outaouais region where a unique format will be deployed:

  • MOTO Practices: For the first time, a supervised practice schedule on the circuit will be offered on Saturday, June 27. The regular Moto competition schedule will begin immediately following the practices.

  • SPECIAL QUAD SCHEDULE: Due to these logistics, the QUAD competition program will be held on Friday afternoon, June 26.

  • This announcement is being made now to allow participants to adapt their planning. More details (detailed schedules, regulations, practice fees) will follow shortly.

RD4 – St-David-de-Falardeau | July 11-12 (Vallée des Géants) For this 2nd edition, special attention will be paid to improving specific sections of the track created last year. With its incredible site and the support of the local community, this event will be a must-attend in the Saguenay region this summer.

RD5 – Centre de la Mauricie | August 1-2 This new addition to the calendar will be officially announced soon. Stay tuned to our communications to discover this new playground!

RD6 – Edmundston, NB | August 15-16 (Mont Farlagne) The FMSQ is back in New Brunswick! Located right next to the city, this new site at Mont Farlagne will offer a unique racing experience while allowing you to discover this dynamic sector of the province.

RD7 – Litchfield | August 29-30 The second new site in the Outaouais for 2026! The experience promises to be completely different from RD3, featuring a terrain with large grass track sections and varied elevation.

RD8 – Saint-Michel-des-Saints | September 12-13 (Blue Pine) Back at the vast Lamoureux brothers' estate. After a memorable inaugural edition, adjustments to certain sections of the course are planned to make this event a pillar of the series.

RD9 – L’Orignal, ON | September 26-27 Certain regulatory details remain to be finalized for this site: keep an eye on our upcoming communications! Located near the major hubs of Montreal and Ottawa, this is a brand-new site in Ontario for the series finale.

Have a great 2026 season, everyone!
