Heading to Edmundston! The FMSQ National Championship Conquers Mont Farlagne

The FMSQ National Championship is back in New Brunswick, but this time, we're heading to a brand-new venue: Mont Farlagne (Républik Nature), located just a few minutes from Edmundston! Get ready to discover this outdoor gem of the Madawaska region and experience an electrifying weekend: a whole new vibe and a true mountain challenge!

This inaugural edition at Mont Farlagne is powered by the FMSQ, in close collaboration with the Républik Nature team and the Edmundston region. Established in 1969 and operated today as a 4-season community outdoor cooperative, Mont Farlagne promises to deliver a spectacular and memorable event for FMSQ riders coming from all four corners of Quebec, Ontario, and of course, the Maritimes!

Nearly 700 athletes and riders are expected to conquer the mountain!

  • MADAWASKA TRAILS (BIKING AND HIKING):

Located just 2 minutes from downtown Edmundston, you'll find a mountain bike trail network in real mountains (Total elevation gain: 1,589 m). Featuring 11 km of enduro trails, in addition to nearly 60 kilometers of singletrack trails (7 beginner, 9 intermediate, and 4 expert) built to IMBA standards by the passionate volunteers of Vélo Edmundston, thanks to generous forest landowners.

  • Prospector’s Trail (Sentier du prospecteur):

    • A dozen loops are available, offering a variety of distances and difficulty levels.

    • Explore this magnificent trail network of over 10 km—on foot year-round or on snowshoes in the winter—to discover breathtaking landscapes and follow in the footsteps of Madawaska's most famous prospector, Mr. Robert "Bob" Leboeuf. For many years, this iconic local figure searched for gold along the western slope of the mountain. The site was known to everyone as "Bob LeBoeuf's Mine." Witty and determined, he is an integral part of local history and has become a regional legend. Come explore Bob LeBoeuf's mine—who knows what you might find!

  • Indoor Climbing:

    • Located at the Edmundston Sports Pavilion, the Escalade Edmundston Climbing site—in partnership with the Edmundston Recreation Department—is a welcoming spot to come climb with friends or family! Offering a variety of climbing walls standing 10.6 m (35 ft) high, as well as a 4.6 m (15 ft) bouldering wall, routes rated from 5.5 to 5.12d (regularly updated) provide challenge levels for climbers of all abilities. A lower wall is also accessible for younger kids.

    • Whether it's open climb, supervised sessions, group classes, youth programs, or party packages, Escalade Edmundston Climbing offers something for everyone. As the largest indoor climbing facility in the Maritimes—located at the Edupôle in downtown Edmundston, near the Maine and Quebec borders—it is THE go-to spot for climbing in New Brunswick!   • Municipal Dump Station (Edmundston Arena / Saint-Basile): Located at 239 Principale Street, this municipal pull-off features a dump station as well as a drinking water outlet located next to the shed near the EV charging stations (be sure to bring a long hose). (About 13 minutes from the site)
