A new electric era with the Stark Future FMSQ sweeper team
Waterloo, Quebec – March 23, 2026 – The FMSQ is extremely proud to announce a new two-year partnership with Stark Future. Starting in the 2026 season, the FMSQ sweeper team will ride state-of-the-art Stark Varg electric motorcycles.
A redefined and professionalized sweeper team
Over the past two years, the FMSQ has undergone a significant evolution of its sweeper team. Essential to event logistics and track safety, this team of passionate workers has become more professional, both in terms of its work methods and employee commitment, as well as in its safety practices, through increased collaboration with the FMSQ medical team. The integration of Stark Varg motorcycles is a direct result of the organization's efforts to continuously improve safety at its events.
“I am very proud of this new partnership, which will allow the FMSQ to reach another level of professionalism. The Stark Varg motorcycles bring several concrete technical advantages to our sweeper team. The fact that the motorcycles are silent will allow for better communication between the patrol and the track crews; there will no longer be a need to start and stop an engine during our interventions. In addition, the integrated touchscreen on the handlebars will offer direct access to vital information, such as the track map, and much more. Of course, this is part of our ongoing improvement of our approach. Battery charge management will be integrated into our work, and we have established a solid plan that aligns perfectly with the organization of our event days. Our team is ready to deliver the goods to ensure safety and logistics at our sites in 2026.”
— Marc-Antoine Belhumeur, Director of Events and Chief Sweeper.
Electric motorcycles at the FMSQ:
Beyond event logistics, the FMSQ is adding a new category in 2026, the MOTO Lightning, to the 10:30 a.m. race on Sunday. This one-hour category will offer excellent accessibility for riders who want to compete specifically with electric motorcycles. This complements the existing opportunities at the FMSQ, where electric motorcycle riders can already race in the various existing categories. (Don't forget to consult the race rulebook to learn more about the starting procedure for electric motorcycles).
